Located in the binderies of eastern France and Switzerland ,at the Alps area, in the mountains, the climate is too cold to cultivated grapes, and it only has 1000 hectares in land. The grapes in this region are up to 23 varieties, many of which are very unique. There are five main white varieties, including Chasselas from Switzerland, Chardonnay, and Roussane (locally known as Bergeron). Local origin Jacques is the most widely cultivated in Savoie regions, the wine produced here is light in palate, low alcohol content, often with some Flint odor. Altesse (also known as Housset Roussette) yield is less ,the alcohol is high, heavy in taste, rich flavor, with aging potential. dry white wine Mainly made of single variety (or blended with Chardonnay). The main black varieties are Pinot Noir, Gamay, Mondeuse (can produce deep color, strong taste, tight structure wine, can be kept for a long time).
